Project tracking that doesn’t slow developers down.

Write the ticket key in your commit: Jalonio makes the link. Backlog, sprints and a Kanban board, keyboard search, a documented API and webhooks. All without a rules editor or mandatory settings.

Development connectors

GitLab, GitHub, Gitea and Forgejo, linked to your tickets.

A project lead turns on the connector in the project settings. Jalonio shows a receiving address and a secret to paste into the forge’s webhook, with step-by-step instructions for each forge. After that, just mention the ticket key:

git checkout -b feature/portal-142-sign-in
git commit -m "PORTAL-142: fix sign-in"
  • The ticket shows a “Development” section: commits, branches and merge requests, with their state spelled out. It only appears when there is something to show.
  • By default, when a merge request that mentions the ticket is merged, the ticket moves to “Done”. A single checkbox turns this behaviour off.
  • Jalonio sends no requests to your forge: the forge sends its events, which are verified by their signature.
Organise

Scrum, Kanban, or both.

Backlog and sprints

Plan by drag and drop, start the sprint, close it: unfinished tickets go to the next sprint or back to the backlog, your choice.

Kanban board

Work-in-progress limits, swimlanes by assignee, epic or priority, real-time updates.

Reports

Burndown, velocity, cumulative flow, and a sprint retrospective prepared from the facts.

Automatic behaviours

Six ready-made actions, each turned on or off with a checkbox. No rules to write, no cascading effects.

Keyboard first

A short search syntax, shortcuts everywhere.

Search understands a short syntax: several values separated by commas, a - to exclude, relative dates.

assignee:me category:in-progress
priority:critical,high -category:done due:<+7d
sprint:active assignee:none

Filters can be saved, shared and exported as CSV or JSON. Ctrl + K opens the command palette, c creates a ticket, / opens search, j and k move through a list. The board itself can be driven from the keyboard.

Automate

A complete REST API, described in OpenAPI.

Every feature of the interface relies on the same API: whatever you do on screen, you can automate. Each instance publishes its OpenAPI 3.1 reference, served locally, without a CDN.

curl -H "Authorization: Bearer $TOKEN" "$JALONIO/me"
  • Personal tokens with scopes (read, write, administration) and a mandatory expiry date.
  • Signed webhooks: ticket created, updated or deleted, comment added, sprint started or closed.
  • Ready-made messages for Mattermost, Slack, Rocket.Chat and Microsoft Teams.
  • iCalendar feed of due dates, milestones and sprints.
  • Full export of the project or the organisation, in a documented format that can be imported again.
Coming from Jira

Import your Jira project, numbers included.

Through a CSV export, or directly through the API of Jira Cloud or Data Center: sprints, comments and attachments included. A simulation shows the result before anything is written, and the import can be replayed without duplicates. Follow the guide to migrating from Jira.

Frequently asked questions

Questions from engineering teams.

Which forges are supported?

GitLab, GitHub, Gitea and Forgejo. Ticket keys are recognised in commit messages, branch names and the titles or descriptions of merge requests and pull requests.

Do we need to open access to our forge?

No. Jalonio never contacts the forge: the forge sends it events by webhook. Each delivery is verified by its secret or signature.

What is the API rate limit?

60 requests per minute per token by default. Each response shows the number of requests remaining; beyond that, the API responds with 429 and the time to wait.

Does Jalonio handle time tracking?

No. Jalonio does not offer time tracking. Estimates, in points or hours, are used to plan sprints.

Do descriptions support Markdown?

Yes: bold, lists, checkboxes, tables and code blocks, with a preview. In comments, an @ mention notifies the person, and #KEY-12 links to a ticket.

Can we install it on our servers?

Yes. Jalonio is licensed under the EUPL 1.2 and installs on Debian 12 or 13, without Docker, with a single command. It makes no outgoing requests by default.
